In the service manual of my car ( C class 56 ) there is absolutely no reference whatever to the power steering pump. It gives info on the routine checks to make on the engine oil and brake fluid, windscreen washer water, tyres but zilch , didley squat on the power steering reservoir. In fact in the whole documentation, all 5 kilo`s of it it does not get a mention , even the main index has no section on it and being Mercedes Benz there is no under bonnet picture locating service items. Of course I located and identified it by a process of elimination but finding the fluid low on the dipstick no information anywhere on what to put in the reservoir. As I was going in Halfords I looked at their fluids product selector guide and under power steering pump it said refer to car manual Grrrrr

Unless you get a leak, a top up should never be needed!!!

Yes MB use their own fluids. They do not mention these pumps or ABC pumps ever,,just go to the dealer, but as SAM they should not need any topping up unless there is a leak
