Fitted new belt to my 2000 E320 CDI today, not too difficult job to do, bought the belt from local motor factors for £17 its a Gates 6PK 2270 which are top quality belts fitted has standard from new, best to remove radiator cowling for better access, then remove the fan by the hexagon bolt in the centre, now you can easily get a 17mm socket on the tensioner pulley bolt hidden just under the tensioner, hold the tension off then slide the belt off the pulleys, PS make a diagram of the route of the belt before taking it off. get your new belt position it on the pulleys then hold the tension pulley with the 17mm socket and wrench then pop the belt on, cheers Dave
