Good evening
Forgive me if this covered elsewhere - I have looked for a while without success, hence my questions are these:
If I had a 2007 built E320 fitted with an Audio 20 radio, CD multichanger and 'Telephony Convenience' (pre- wired phone - I think that means) is it feasible to fit an NG 1 Comand unit on the basis that I think that was the correct version for that year and in so doing would be able to get full functionality.
If the Radio unit is pulled out, would I find the connectors for the NG 1 in situ behind it (or attached to it)? If they are and it gets connected up is there anything else that needs to be done i.e programming it to the car or other wizardy that only a main dealer or indie can do?
In other words, is/are other wiring /connectors required or were the looms fitted as standard whether the car was build with just a radio or with Comand. Consequently, if I were to source a second hand NG 1 head unit what would I need to ensure was included with the head unit.
Many thanks in anticipation.
