Hello all, i am new to this forum and have a question that I know someone will be able to help me with.
Having just had my offside front ball joint shear whilst doing a right turn, i am currently fitting a new one. I have finally removed the actual ball joint part from the wishbone with some unorthodox use of a loose vice! Now, i am trying to remove the part that goes into the hub assembly and has a pinch bolt of sorts holding it in. I have removed the nut, but the bolt remains immovable, at the moment. Does the bolt just push in/out or is there a thread inside the part? I thought i would ask before i get too carried away with my hammer. I hope someone can help, thank you.

It?s a bolt that just pushes in, the bet way to remove it is put a socket an the bolt and a long strong bar [not a ratchet] and try moving it back and forwards to loosen the rust before knocking it out . Fit a new bolt when you are rebuilding it again.

oops!

Well, here i am nearly a year later and the ball joint on other side has just gone! The first one went at 172,000 miles, this one going at 183,000 miles. I know i should have changed them both. I have just got my new ball joint from GSF parts for about £13.00 inc. postage. So, i am off to dig out the old vice i used last time and ready to start turning the air blue again........
