I've a feeling that this is one mod that is not advised as the 204 uses a different taper on the studs to the 203. There may be something on here about that if you do a search.

Correct they do.
You need M12 R14 bolts (M12 thread, 14mm radius ball shoulder).

The w204 wheels have a totally different offset to w203 wheels, I would not advise using them at all.

Best get something from a W203 of course but failing that at least get something with the same offset and bolt size. Pretty sure you'll have bolt issues with r171 as well. The w203 was the last to have M12 bolts as far as I'm aware.
W210 and r170 also use M12 (and anything older).
I personally use w211 wheels on my 210 but needed special bolts. The offset on those was was fine as the 211 and210 use the same offset.

This is correct.
W203 wheels have the front ET 37 and rear ET30/32 style dependant
W204 wheels have the front ET45 and rear ET 56 again, style dependant.

As well as the bolt holes being bigger and needing "wrong" bolts, the W204 wheels will most certainly need a spacer on rears to stop them touching the calipers/suspension struts.Whatever bolts you now use will also need to be 25mm longer. to allow for that spacer.

Really a bad idea trying to fit 204 wheels on a 203.
