Hi there, does any one know if there is a common fault with the seat pads?
Drivers heated seat (base) has stopped working, must sense winter is here!
What are the things to check and are there any cheap replacements. I presume you have to remove the leather trim etc. Any help gratefully recieved..

Michael..

I have been told that the wire breaks where the seat base meets the back of the seat, seems it fractures where the recline point is.
Does the back still heat up??

If not the above then a new pad will be required.

Yes you have to remove the cover to replace the mat, the mat is stiched into th eleather, so the new one you just lay under the leather cover.

The wires often break that go to the pad,,and these can be repaired.

I can give you all of the info to get the seats out and remove the trim

I need an email address please. You could just remove the rear cover but not much room in there to see or work

4 Papers sent to cover all of the job,,,you could pause when you get to the connections on the seat heater,as these can be tested from there without going further in case the fault is a broken wire going to the back rest :D

Malcolm

Have you AR91 10P 1070GA

Remove seat squab with electric seats.
The A prefix at the end denotes electric seat adjustment Code 560

Heated seat backrest

The backrest heater wires are broken it seems i think i need a new foam pad as i cant find the other end of the wire.
I wonder if ollie has ever stripped a seat down to replace a broken pad.

Has anyone got a part number R170 449

As there is only on wire shown in the link,,that could be a twin wire so you still have a good chance of fixing it
