I have a SLK230 Kompressor which is only used high days and holidays. It has been 3 months since last used and the battery is so flat I cannot open the doors to even get the manual out. How can you open the car to get under the bonnet to recharge the battery.

Can anyone help please?

Doesn't it have a manual key? My remote has a manual key slotted into the housing of the central locking thingie..

you should have the flip key type....you take off the cover on the drivers door by using a flat bladed screw driver to reveal the key hole....and you unlock the door..it will only unlock the drivers door....should be easy enough.

And as the battery is so flat the alarm should not be triggered. But when you put the charger on the battery, unlock the central locking with the remote.

Also Ian, It is not good for your car to leave it laid up for long periods.

I am not sure how to use this but you were exactly right. A plastic cover was inserted in the key hole, removed it and got the bonnet open. The alarm was going but had to remove the fuse until sufficient charge in the battery to do other things, replaced the fuse and switched off the alarm. It is still charging this morning so many thanks for your assistance.

Thanks for your help, it is getting there slowly with my little charger working overtime. Cheers for your help.

I have never used a message board forum either so you can imagine how helpful people have been so many thake for assistance. I will promise to drive the car a bit more from now on. It has only done 14k from new so it is vastly under used and it is a crying shame. Still summer is now with us so I will go out in it more from now on.
