Thank you for your help last time, the problem fix. Now I have this problem. I only have one key for my 190e, first reg 2000, and would like to obtain a flat-headed key which does all the singing and dancing !!! Does anybody know where I can obtain a key to fit my car? ( I have looked on E-Bay and I could buy a replacement key switch with two keys, however I would like a proper Merceds Benz key ).

Apart from MB themselves, have you tried contacting replacementmercedeskeys.co.uk? They're a forum supporter and I've used them in the past.

Hi Chris,
Thank you most kindly for your information. I looked up the company only to find that they do not cover 19e first reg 2000. They seem to only work with the new push / auto button style. I think my best bet is to get a completely new lock with two replacement keys. I have seen them on E-bay and spoken with the seller who assures me it will fit my car.

Just in passing I have e-mailed my details two Mercedes Benz dealers on the Isle of Wight and have had no replies from them.

Once again thank you most kindly for your help. Richard.

In general if a garage has time to reply to an email they’re not a very good garage… Best off calling in or phoning them at a push. Much harder to be ignored when you’re standing in front of them…;)
