On the E320cdi ,2009 W211 . There is a flicker which isn‘t continuous on the engine temp gauge .
Its been going on for some months , I just keep forgetting to look into it .
The flicker only affects that right hand gauge
It doesn’t happen all the time .
Lights on or off makes no difference.
It possibly occurs more when the car has just started but also crops up at any time throughout a drive .
The temp gauge always reads correctly and never budges .

Any suggestions as to where to start looking ? Maybe some connection cleaning (he says hopefully)

There are no fault codes

Thanks

Not sure if yours uses LEDs or bulbs for dash illumination. If bulbs it could just be a tired bulb or a poor connection. Pop the dash out and check.

Give it a wack.

Guess its a dash out job. Reseat or replace bulb and connectors and take it from there.

An oil change aint gonna fix this one.

On a 129 it's two hooks and pull. Simples.
211 not quite so easy but not far from it:
Cheers buddy l I’ve been looking on YouTube as well , removal of the whole cluster looks pretty simple but separation of all the internal cluster pcb board thingys looks fiddly to say the least . It might all have to wait for warm summer weather :).
Beside I’m 6500k since my last oil change so that might have to come first .

Be careful with the hooks as you can crack the front screen… pushing from behind is a safer method… it’s just a PITA to get behind it…

Good idea to wait till it warms up, last thing you want is cold plastic to go snappppp.

Good luck with it and keep us updated.

Not the same as 129s. There's a black bezel that pops off then 4 bolts to undo.

If it's bulbs should be no need to split it further. The bulb holders twist out.
