Dear All,
My spare key (the three button key) does not work since yesterday (it cannot open either the door or the trunk). I noticed that the red light is very dimmed (still flashing but very very dimmed).
I changed the battery but the light is still dimmed. (I will buy another battery: just in case it is just battery);
What is the chance that the fob key is damaged (what a pity, its only 2 years old).
thanks

Key does not work

It most probably is the key batteries. But the key may need resetting and to to that you need to be inside the car and you say it wont unlock the door? Do you have a second key?

Yes, I do have the second key and it works fine. I am using it now.
What do I have to do after replacing the battery ?

If after changing the battery the key still doesent work then put the key in the ignition switch open the ignition/close the ignition take the key out and point it at the door or OCP (overhead control panel) and press the unlock. You may need to repeat this several times. Good luck;)

Thanks a lot for your advice, I will try when the car returns.
By the way, I again changed the baterry with two new ones. But the red light is still very dimmed. (I can barely see the dimmed light): Does it mean something ?

Thats a hard question, some LED's do lose their brightness, only by measuring the current consumption can you tell if it is faulty.

If you point the remote into a digital camara, and press the buttons,if it is working you can see it.

I have credit card size testers,several in the workshop,best of all is a wrist watch tester. You can even use the Pyramid senders.

I dont own a camcorder, but even if I had,it would not have made my socks any better:Oops:
