NEWBIE HERE -

seen some posts re this

happy to take seat apart to get at latch for repair etc

but in my case it has happened to the smaller seat - which means cannot get boot blind unit out / off , as wider seat has to be opened 2nd (this latch stiff but ok) but have to fold smaller first , so stumped !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

any help gratefully accepted

desparate methods included !!! - cutting hole in basck of seat if req

thanks

nickj

ps my latches on top of seat , outward of head rest sockets

continued ................

thanks for the 2 links,

first one not the type as in my car - mine has the levers on top of seat outwards of headrest sockets

yes second seems to relate to the type in my car , but is related to the wider seat being the problem i.e asumes you CAN drop smaller drivers side seat to get access

in my care it is reverse , hense blooming stuck as cannot drop wider side as cannot get blind off, therefore no access to smaller seat mechanisms etc

HELP................................

see above, problem is that all posts so far re this problem are with larger seat back sticking, mine is the smaller seat which you cannot shift without getting other side first to get at mechanism as cant get blinds off

take the trim off the top of the seat and use a long screwdriver to operate the mechanism. It can take 10 mins or 10 hours it depends if you can hit the spot.

Sticking seat mechanism

Had a sililar problem with my CLK...but on that one could access release in the boot....once freed with the screw driver was fine but could not release with latch or cable ..even pullying release cable with plyers...but one thing that made it easier was WD40...can you get one of the long spray tip cans angled down into the mechanism? Good luck some pics would be useful.

got it down at last

with use of screw driver and small hole cut out of back of seat to guide it to lever i eventually got it released !!!!!!!!!!!!

need new lock unit etc as lever at top of seat snapped off where it connects to lever that goes down into seat , hence red block would not pop up ,

any ideas on parts req

& price

and source ???????????????

thanks
