Hi I am new to this but I thought I would ask for help
I have clk320 cabriolet
The issue is it’s been parked for a few months
Now when I press the brake when driving down the road
The brake stays on
I then have to put the foot on the brake and realise the hand brake
This happens every time I brake

Hello and welcome are you inadvertently pressing the foot (hand) brake instead of the normal brake?

Hi no sorry I’m pressing the foot the brake not the little pedal on the left
I have noticed today that if I put foot under the brake pedal I can lift it up
And that’s fine
So think the brake pedal is sticking some where

Foot operated handbrake pedal not coming up all the way and warning light staying on dash board.

Buy a tin of penetrating spray and get under the steering wheel area , spray the handbrake mechanisms as you apply and release the handbrake. If its been left for 2 months ,chances are the handbrake shoes are sticking on in the rear wheels, drive the car and use the handbrake when you should ,will see things improve.

Slightly off topic, dose anyone use their parking brake when parked in the garage particularly over long periods?
I leave mine off on the 212 e350CDI.

Not at all, the likelihood of it rusting on is high.

I always leave mine off, but do test it regularly when I remember.

The OP has a problem with the foot brake, not the parking brake ;)
