Could be related to the washer bottle as it goes right past but dont see how if it is. May be a vacuum hose or similar as it has a little connector. About six inches long 1/8 rubber then becomes a very small white nylon pipe that disappears in the wiring loom up under wheel arch.

It was getting dark when I took pic so couldn't see much. checked my manuals, web, searched etc just cant see what its for. Perhaps someone will recognize it and tell me where it goes.

many thanks

Blimey that was quick. Cheers mate. Why so fancy though with a connector and then the long nylon pipe ? Seems way OTT.

When you try filling the bottle, it takes a age, bubbles backs and all sorts!!!

Help please. Had an extensive search today. Took the bottle back off. No connector for hose to be found.
There IS a little pipe inside the bottle that sticks up to the neck but that's it. Also the bore of this nylon pipe is too small and it also disappears right up in to the loom. No way its a vent. Any other suggestions?

To help I re-edited the picture to show a red dotted path of where the pipe goes off to.

Vacuum feed for the headlight leveling. Is there one on the off-side?

is it not the main vacuum takeoff from the manifold somewhere? check to see if there is a pipe connected to the intake manifold somewhere after the throttle valve, there should be, usually grey or white for main take off point.

had a look today at work, it is the main vacuum takeoff point and it plugs in very near where it is pictured. have a look at the manifold just to the rear of the bypass throttle body (the ribbed aluminium and black plastic thing!) there you will see the connection point!

Great thanks. Will look eagerly in the morning. I'll update you.
Wish I new before you had these to look at. I would have asked about the layout of some other pipes I struggled with refitting.
Trouble is it all comes apart so easy.

your the man. Even staring at the thing this morning I couldn't see it for ages, but fits ok now. Any idea what it does. Searched for ages and found little on it.
Would have expected the engine to run a bit rough at least.

it is the main takeoff for all engine vacuum related functions, other than brake servo of course. head light level control is one of the functions, probably depends on what equipment you have regarding other consumers.
