Has any one fitted front bumper indicators before ?

Most USA S Class vehicles seem to have these.

I guess its just a case of cutting a hole in the front bumper and wiring them up to the main front indicators, possibly with LED indicator bulbs to minimise the wattage ??

thanks

That was quick Malcolm..... thanks.

Do they just sort of stick on the bumper, and only a small hole for the wiring in the bumper is required ?

thanks

Though they contain a kind of holder for the lamp, the only fixing appears to be the center large hole, maybe just a hole with a large rubber grommet would allow it to be just pushed in, it cant twist as the edge is up against the bumper strip

Nothing shown in my MB stuff, not even for my car that has them in some states
there should not be any problem if you get the strips as well, they come pre painted so they are a perfect match

I am not sure if they are running lights or repeaters, if they are repeaters then nothing is affected

Malcolm,

Don't most US states have these? On my visits to Texas, Ohio and Kentucky they refer to them as "cruise lights".

It's a bit like the equivalent of sidelights except they're orange, but also they can act as a side repeater, i.e. they glow constantly when on, but they can also "flash" without completely going out - if that makes sense?

Not sure what a US spec S Class would/should do mind you.

Thanks Malcolm

Its just for side indicators, wired up to the main indicators. I think I might be mistaken for a "pimp" if they were on all the time :cool::cool::D

I will ask the local MB if they can get the curved side mouldings for me so I can just slip in the lights and wire them up.

cheers

Chas

If they are Daylight Running Lights, are they also required for the Swedish/Danish/Norwegian etc etc markets? Or are they just unique to the USA market?

Day time running lights as used in Sweden and North Canada are headlamps running at 2/3 brightness, with the Xenon, they must be on at full power as I do not think that these are dimmable
