Guys, should be a simple one - I've just bought a merc and notice that I'm nearly down to metal on my brakes (w210 estate 96). I've had a quick look, but cant see which bolt I need to undo to lift the callipers up to change the fronts. I can see there are 2 plastic covers sticking out the back and that there are 2 x quite large bolt heads holding it to the suspension arm, but not sure which one to undo - I've since broke my hand, so won't be doing it just yet a while now tho !

Also, anyone have or know where I could get a PDF manual from please

Any help appreciated .....

Under the black covers as you describe is a couple of 7mm (or 6mm) allen key bolts, them and the retainer spring on the front.

I do not want to appear to be a kiljoy but:-

Most mannuals are copyright and serious consequences seem to occur to web sites which offer such data, seemingly it it theft so I suggest that you look at one of those auction sites where thieves prosper and therefore avoid the risks of those who would wish to mess us about spoiling this excellent site.

It is a real easy job to do. I found the retaining bolt that holds the caliper to the steering knuckle very tight having been coated in 'loctite' before fitting (suggest replacing with new given they only cost pence).
