Anyone know where I might get the fixture that goes between the floor mats (carpet) and the car floor?

My W203 coupe's original MB mats are in excellent condition apart from the fixture that fixes them to the car's floor.

I know it is only a minor fault but I'd like to restore it to original condition. I will need to do a bit of bodging because the old fixture must have worked through the hole, but I'm keen to give it a go.

Even a part name/number would be helpful in my search.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry its been asked before, they are not sold on their own, perhaps getting one from the passenger side at a breaker

Wondered if that might be the case. If the mats themselves were knackered then I'd fork out for new ones or go the cheapo ebay route, but they are in great nick, except for the hole where the fixture should be. Oh well, breakers it is.

BTW now I've had a reply from you, I feel I've truely arrived on the forum! Cheers.

With an impact adhesive why not glue something on the rear backing, the round black fittings split in two then you can re fit them

That's what I was planning on doing.

One problem though, I don't (and never have had) the fixings! That was why I was trying to buy them.

I suppose I could actually make something easily enough, drill some rubber maybe.

I'll link to a pic if I have any luck, if it comes out like some Heath-Robison fix made of bathroom tap washers, you've got to promise not to laugh!

I take it that you have the studs on the floor, if that is the case I can photograph mine in the morning and give you all of the sizes

That is extremely kind of you.

Yep, I still have the studs.

Thanks again.

I think that I would make them out of the 1"1/4 black plastic sink plug, it would only need a keyhole slot cut into the top that slide down the floor peg, and push it down over the mat into place

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Malcolm. It might be a while before I get round to the job (not the most essential job in the world!) But when I do, I'll post a pic.
