front spring cup housing

1994 w202 c200 mercedes and 1939 morris 8 e series
the front spring cup housing on drivers side is all broke away and a tear in it
my mot is on saturday
guess what ill be doing tomorrow lol welding a patch over it i dout mb sell the spring housing :neutral:

forgot to say its the top cup housing on body of car

what a nightmare getting spring back in lol after getting cup welded
just my new discs and pads to go in tomorrow
i only get a couple of hours a night at it as i use it through the day
my accelarater cable the plastic screw snapped that you can adjust in engine bay i stuck it with super glue lol
i hate cars :shock:

merk,.. very interested in this post as regards the welding gear you used,..was it a gas rig or a mig welder,..if you used a mig was there any precautions you took apart from the risk of fire,. for example,.did you disconnect any of the ecu's,did you disconnect the battery,did you do anything else,etc,..i have some welding to do on my w210 shortly and intend to use my mig but do not want to risk damage to any of the electronics,..thanks

always disconnect the battery before using any kind of welder that requires you to earth the welder to the car. either that or go out and buy a surge protctor. either will protect alternator and other important delicate and expensive electrical components from damage from voltage spikes. trust me. i ruined an alternator on an Escort a few years back, so speak from experience!

i used a mig welder and i disconected the battery
