front suspension knock

evening people. I am trying to find out why my front RHS knocks over uneven ground. its beginning to annoy me.

does anyone have an idea, or a parts diagram so I can see what I need to think about buying to cure this. I have looked in the Haynes manual........ but that is very painful and I am getting the hump.

it has to be a bush/arm or something.

anyone able to help please?

Car needs to be put up in the air and every component checked for wear. There is no other way to diagnose.

The suspension components do need to be checked with a pry bar find the culprit. :(

Typical culprits are bottom ball joints and ARB drop links.

The bottom ball joints are under tension form the road spring and so won't show movement in the usual manner.

Typical culprits are bottom ball joints and ARB drop links.

The bottom ball joints are under tension form the road spring and so won't show movement in the usual manner.

any idea on how to check them Chris i think my lower ball joint has gone on the NSF?

MB use a measuring tool, but for the DIYer you need to take the tension off the ball joint first.

Jack up the car by using the lower control arm, placing the jack as near to the ball joint as possible.

Once the wheel is just off the ground, you should be able to induce movement by either rocking the wheel or using a crowbar to lift the wheel up and down.

On some cars you can use a small jemmy to work on the hub carrier directly in order to check for movement.

that has helped me out as well
