Front tyres on back axel

Hi, had my car serviced in the last 6 weeks and was told tyres were close to needing changing, just had a look and noticed the tyres were on the wrong axel, front narrow ones on the back and wider on the front???, car always drove well with no problem but how could a Mercedes specialist not spot this

Blind? One of my ex-cars had an MOT fail for this fault few years after I sold it.

Yea can’t believe a Mercedes specialist could do all the brake pads and front discs, advise on thread depth and not spot this ??

Think of it as a result - you could have had one of each on the different axles.

Just hope it hasn’t caused problems with suspension etc. And probably will feel ok when I get it rectified

I had to stop Costco doing this when I bought a pair of front tyres, and they tried to do their standard thing of fitting new tyres on the back. Maybe they'd have realised at some point.

Nothing surprises me any more. A car I'm looking at, having just been MOT'd, needed pointing out to staff that the rear seat belts were missing entirely. And that both rear tyres had splits on sidewall and one across tread face... oh, and one had a gouge out of sidewall.

Shame as rest of car was tidy! Just a lack of attention to detail, especially Mr MOT Tester... doing his actual job! :-(
