Hi

A few people ave commented that the Coolant Level indicator light could be affected by the washer switch as they are part of the same circuit and wired in series. I am still able to use my washers/wipers when the coolant light comes on though?

If it still is the Washer switch that is causing the problem? where do i find in the engine bay??? What wire is likely to be loose or damaged? Ive changed the coolant level sensor already.....

Matthew

The water level switch is pushed into the side of the water bottle, it is wired in series with the header tank switch, you could see that in the wiring diagram that I sent you

so it could be the switch that is faulty?? even though it still works

We are talking the water level switch fitted in the tank, not the the steering column mounted stalk.

On the diagram that I sent you, you can see that switch 42 is the washer tank level switch and the wire that come out goes direct to switch 41 so if either switch is faulty it will throw up a warning. It is a lousy idea, but that is the way that they have done it

Only way to test it, you cant test wiring without a muti-meter!!!

I cannot remember how to use one - i used one in school and when i started an apprenticeship in a power station...i just cannot remember!

If you were to identify whereabouts to start checking (once ive remastered using a multimeter) where would you look?

You need to check continuity to earth and to postive and check what ohms across the two pins is, i can look up what it should be tomorrow for you if you get stuck!
