fuel economy on an 1994 SL320 24v

Does anyone have an opinion on what mpg you should expect from a 1994 SL320?

I have a 94 SL320 and it gives me 26mpg (accurate tank to tank measurement) which I have tested several times with the same result.

I tend to use it on A roads and motorways and drive it just at the weekends for 'fun' so not worrying about fuel economy - I like to hear it sing!. I reckon if you were using it as a daily you could squeeze a bit more out.
