I have a W reg. ML430 and am just about to change the fuel filter. MB describe a tool for removing the pipe couplings from the filter. It has part number 163 589 00 37 00 and looks like a pair of very long nosed pliers with the ends of the jaws bent in.
Do I need this?
On my other car, a Volvo, the couplings can be removed by easing an open ended spanner in between the filter and the coupling but I don't think this is the same.
Is this tool unique to MB or is it generally in use?
Any advice would be appreciated.
