Fuel gauge always reading 3/4

Can't find any instructions on the net, on how to remove the petrol tank from a r230 SL55.
Can anyone help ?

UPDATE
I have now found PDF's relating to Fuel Tank Removal on a R230.
There is many myths about dropping the rear axle, etc.., as you will read on the PDF's, you do not need to drop axle on Sl500, but SL600,SL55 etc you only need to drop the left drive shaft.
Please read and enjoy, I hope this will help other people in removing the petrol gas tank from a mercedes SL R230.
