My one is broken, so I've taken the one off my donor car to fit tomorrow.
The black plastic top seems to not be solidly attached to the metal heat exchanger, with the bolts going through both parts and then into the head clamping it all together.
Is there a seal or gasket between the two which should be replaced or will it be ok and not leak?
There are to tabs which hook on to hold the two bits loosly together. They won't be easy to prise apart though.
I can see some kind of green fibre-like gasket in there I think...
I'll seal it into the head with a thin bead of hylomar or something... just wondering about whats going on between the two halves of the H/EX
Cheers

seperate the two pieces (metal from bottom black plastic) - easy once removed from the car.

inside there is a thick green rubber gasket. remove & clean, and refit with a very small amount of instant gasket applied. this will help keep a nice seal.
