Hi guys, I've been running this Sprinter for 18 months without any major problem, until yesterday. It seems that I am not getting fuel up from the tank, I was told by a mechanic that it was the pump in the fuel tank, but I do not think this is the case. Before I go and purchase the main pump on the front of the engine, any suggestions as to what it could possibly be other than the pump? Or is there a test that I could do to clarify that the pump is the cause of the problem.
Thanks,
Kevin

I by-passed the fuel filter using a bottle full of diesel and it started fine, the pump was sucking it out from the bottle (So I thought the pump can't have seized). I went and got a new filter, started and got warm fine, just took it for a test run now and the same thing is happening. It stalls, EDC light comes on then it struggles to start, then the process repeats.

Have you got any air leaks like perished o rings on the fuel system?

Is there a sepperate pump in the tank aswell as the fuel pump on the engine?
