fuel pump buzzing sound

Hi all during the few days of extremely hot weather we just had, a buzzing sound has developed from the fuel pump or sender unit, when the temp has dropped the sound has gone could this be due to a vapour lock or is the unit on its way out?, there doesn't seem to be any loss of power and the filter was changed 6 months ago.
