Hi
could anyone confirm the location of the fuel pump relay on a 1990 SL300? Mercedes say amongst the relays behind the fuse box (o/s inner wing) but they don't actually list the part no' and can't tell me which one it is!
There seems to be 2 normal size relays and the 3 double / trebble sized ones?

It's about the size of a cigarette packet. On the W124 cars using same the engine it's behind the battery
If you let me know the part number I may have one should you require a replacement.

If you find it as Smudge,, take it out and put a wire between pin 30 and 87 and the car will run, they get bad solder joints inside and easy to solder up

As it is not in the fuse and module box then it is as Smudge said and behind the battery

Hi
i can't see any relays near the battery. Mercedes say its in the back of the fuse box (there are 5 relays there?) but i can't identify which is which as none are marked etc. 2 are normal relay size, 1 appears to be the lengh of 4 relays, the other 2 are more rectangular?

Just in case anyone is looking for this, it is also the auto box kick down relay where a PCB track goes open circuit and you have no kick down

Yes they are, on the kick down part one track goes open circuit and it needs to be soldered up with a bridging wire over the crack,, the fuel pump section should only need the relay its self soldering up.

The kick down part applies to every MB that uses a fuel pump relay

I only have a 126 relay here. If you pull a relay out, if its the right one, then the fuel pump will not run for a few seconds when you turn the key to ignition2

I have tried the car on ignition pos. 11 with the 2 single (1 green, 1 clear) and 1 double (black) relays removed from the box behind the fuses and the pump still primes, so not those. The other 2 boxes in there look more like control modules not relays?
