Hello Rodger, and welcome, It might be best if you looked up your car here

http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb0.asp?TP=1

Use the first 6 figures of you VIN to find your car, go to electrical, the fuse/relay box / holder.

Hi Rodger,
I have an '82 W123 230TE and the fuel pump relay is on the left side of the near side footwell above the bonnet release handle. You'll need to drop the trim beneath the glovebox (3 screws, hidden by plastic covers).

Then how about Simon, Leslie, Terrance, Edgar, Brian, Vincent, George, Tom, Paul, Hugh or Louis? Never thought so many actors played him

Have you tried to clean the contacts, and are there any dry soldered joints. When they come to me I blanket solder the whole board and use a switch lubricant cleaner on the contacts, any high points on the contacts should be filed off, using a very smooth file.

I would recommend that you touch each of the joints with a solering iron anyway just to make sure.

You could bypass the relay. It is there because it has a seconday function. If the car attempts to over rev it cuts the power supply to the pump. It might be that part of the system that has failed. If that could be isolated then you might have a goer.

You cant do that without applying solder (cored resin leaded)

Hi the saint,
I've just had to replace one on a 1982 230te. The part no. of mine was 0015456705, and I ordered one from my local MB dealer in Portsmouth and it cost me £106.90

I would ask Rob Parker a member here who breaks many cars. with most you can by pass to test by removing them and linking pins 7 and 8 and the fuel pump will run all of the time to test
