Hello ,

just a quick one . W203, c270cdi . Had some issues involving the sadle tank syndrome and after checking the senders in the tank( It’s the model
With two senders, no pump in the tank) i’ve found myself in a frustrating situation: can’t tighten up the black locking rings on top of them( at least one of them keeps poping up and spilling diesel out . Am i doing something wrong while fitting the ansamble? The gasket sits well on the lid of the sender. I’m just popping it in the tank and screw the ring on top, but after a couple of turns the rings thread slips and come’s undone again. Ended up with some fuel leaking after a 40 mile drive and soaking all my cars Undercarriage. I know it seems silly but it happened and need advice. The thread seems alright at a glance , and i have no special tool to tighten it, so i’m doing it by hand . Cheers !

Smart + others :)
They can be a pain even with the correct tool. I think your not putting them on straight to start with.
