full beam dimming problem

when i push the stick forward to put the full beam(190e) on it seems to dimm the lights back down to sidelights.seems like it is earthing out on something.need help because its doing my head in not being able to see much at night.

Have you checked both bulbs, fuses and check an see if the blue full beam light comes on in the dash.

Well in my experience this is an earthing problem to the bulb cluster at each headlight unit. Pull the connectors off the headlight unit and check usin a multimeter the brown wire continuity to earth.

when i quick flash the full beams...pull it towards me the blue light lights up on the dash and the bulbs light up bright like they should.i just cant keep them on..pushing them forward.tommorrow i shall have a look at the wiring behind the clusters and use a volt meter.what should i be looking for on the voltmeter?

Sounds like the stalk itself thats faulty

I would pull one of the connectors off the back of the bulb and check the voltage on the dip and main beam feeds.
