I've checked the full beam on my wifes 2001 SLK and found it not to be working on either the flash with no lights on or the full beam on with lights on. The blue high beam lamp does not iluminate on either option but the fuses are intact. I was thinking of taking the multi stock off to see if it can be stripped down and maybe the contacts checked? What I was wodering is there any exploded diagrams of the multi stock and guide to what parts have to be removed to allow it to come off? I've had a quick look but thought I'd post here for thoughts below I start pulling it apart, many thanks in advance for yur help.

take the steering wheel off then the shroud around the stem.

you can pull the switch apart...it just clips together.

mine had melted the brass contact for high / flash to the switch body . free it off then clean up the body with sharp end of small screwdriver so the contact can slide freely.

new switch available from gsf if yours is past it

mine was a 202 but suspect yours is same / similar... worth a go buddy

Thanks for that hmang, what's the best way to remove the steering wheel? do you prize the centre cover off with a screwdriver or something to reveal a locking nut in the middle? or is there another way? obviously don't want to make a hash of it, thanks for the help, always better to learn from someone elses experience.....

two screws buried deep up holes in the rear of the wheel will release the airbag part.

should be torx fitting but you can get away with 4mm allem
