Funny Reg Number

I sometimes see reg numbers that spell out funny words. I wonder if you could buy the reg number you want, rather than take the one you are given, and other people might see the joke, but I doubt it.

On my way down to england, near Abbingdon, I spotted one such number on a van.

HE54 GAY

It would look great on a black Audi TT.

Saw 13 OND on a XJS that became BOND. The best ever plate/car combination I have seen was MR B1G on a Fiat 500 parked outside the casino in Monte Carlo.
