Hi there.
I have a niggly problem, but as it's the only thing wrong with my '94 C200 I'd love to sort it.
The electric mirror adjust for the passenger side doesn't work.
The heating/demist works fine.
Everything works on the drivers side.
I've removed the mirror and checked the voltages at the door connector - nothing at all.
I've also tested across all the fuses under the bonnet - all looks well there too.
It seems unlikely that there would be a separate fuse for each side, but you never know. I certainly can't tell because some previous owner has removed the card from inside the fuse cover and the Haynes manual doesn't cover it.

Any advice, especially a fuse diagram would be much appreciated.

thanks!

Thanks Malcolm. I'm waiting with baited breath.
My pal around the corner has exactly the same problem on his '96 220 diesel.
I'm just hoping it isn't the loom - likely where it flexes at the door hinge area, I suppose.
These older MBs seem to be an incredible bargain buy anyway.

I will direct Andy to your post, if it is a break in the door hinge area its an easy fix.

Yes they are great buys in todays market, just relaxed motoring

Hi,
When you checked for a voltage at the mirror connector, were you operating the mirror adjustment switch? as a voltage wont be present at the connector unless it is.
Put one side of the meter to earth and the other on the pins of the connector.
If you look at the pins in the plug you will see that it is sectioned separating the 2 of the pins to the other three, the three pins are the mirror movement, and the two are for the heated glass, which will/should have a constant feed on them as they are turned on/off via a bi-metal switch fitted actually on the glass.
When operating the mirror adjustment listen to the mirror see if there is any noise from it.
A new mirror motor can be obtained not sure of the price but often seen on e-bay.

mirror adjustment

Thanks Andy. I was operating the switch, checking the voltages across all three contacts at the time. No voltage at all. At a guess, I reckon there should be one common feed, probably earth, while the other two wire voltages will be switched by the controller.
If I can get the fuse position at least that's somewhere to start at the other end.
Failing that, I'll check for resistance to earth and battery across all the wires going back into the door.
There is a large rubber boot between the door and body, again I'm guessing that's where the wires enter the body.

I don't think it's the motors - checks so far seem to indicate a problem with the feed or central switch.
I could also rig up a temporary feed to the motors and see if anything moves.

If you try a separate feed. do unplug the wires from the mirror first

The mirrors are very easy to remove you could try swapping them over from one side to the other though i appreciate you won,t be able to fit to the car but the plugs are the same both sides and should prove whether the mirror is U/S or the wiring to the door.
Sorry i really don,t know what fuse they are fed from but i agree it does seem unlikely there will only be one fuse for both mirrors.
I will look on the fuse card for my C230K tomorrow, but its a 97 model so may be different to yours, but i,ll post it if i find it.
