Hi guys im thinking about buying a post 2013 G350d ,but ive spotted a 2013 G350d Brabus D6s factory conversion ,can anyone help me with info on this car , cant seem to find anything about it , all I know its factory brabus d6s ,its bit more than I wanted to spend by 12-4k so was wonder if its worth it / PROS an CONS etc
I want a G350d as I do 10k miles a year so the v8 isnt really an option ,any advise would be welcomed.

I simply don't understand why people like this model MB , sure its each to their own but its picked up a stigma since it became popular again for being owned by certain type of person

A Brabus is kitted merc akin to AMG but done by Brabus funny enough hence the price.
G classes as you know are rare and finding the right one could take time.

As far as I know, the Brabus D6 is 'just' a tuning box fitted in the engine compartment to remap the engine. It was sold as an official modification through MB. It does not usually include other Brabus modifications. We drove one once - seemed quite sprightly in an E350cdi. However, you can achieve the same results - or better - by visiting someone like GAD Tuning or MSL.

My thoughts are that the price for a car like that is probably all about what a buyer is prepared to pay. Good luck with the decision.

My own thoughts are just that.... My own thoughts and my little head is querying why a high-performance G class, but my adventurous side is saying, 'Why not!!'

I like the styling of the G-class so good luck :)

G Class is something different and not for everyone, I think they look great though and definitely will be a head turner.
Minimal depreciation as well which is always good.
I doubt you would ever regret buying one.

Go for the G63 petrol if you can afford the purchase price, 10k smiles per year won't cost much in comparison. Even with the diseasel you'll get low mpg especially if you hoof it, its a 2.5t brick after all.

I often wonder if I'd bought a G-Wagon instead of 4 other MB, I'd be quids in over the time I've had them.

This isn't just the tuning box, this has the full Brabus D6s tuning package with babus chip/brabus quad exhaust /brabus mono block alloys/brabus carbon full body kit/ babus grear knob and glove box decals etc
After doing some digging from what I have found out ,unlike ythe tuning chip,the full D6S tuning kit was fitted by the merc dealer from new only and was not sold as and after kit to fit yourself , what i want to know is how could i find out it it was ordered with the particular car im interested in !? need to know this as i dont want to buy it at the price they want if its parts fitted 2nd hand afterwards etc

Does it come with the original paperwork? I'm guessing not so a Mercedes dealer or someone who has access to that information could tell you from the VIN number

if you think its just about that then mistaken ,its all bout exclusivity, rarity, class, status, and prestigious reputation, and devaluation nothing really holds its value like one ,plus their built like no other merc on the road today>
my father owned a few throughout the 1990s and they was so solid and reliable ,ive always promised myself one when money wasn't and issue, im 47 now so better get in there quick lol

Because they are f bomb proof at least pre emissions crap. Between 86 and 2004 I had three .I wud have another tomorrow,if I was not becoming such a fossil. They screw lr into ground. I spent one Christmas in amboseli pullin them and minibuses out of mud.

The VIN works, the reg number will not. That will let you see the MOT history plus advisories
With the vin number you can do an online look up and see what options were fitted from new.

If you want less depreciation buy a 110 Land Rover... ;) :D
Could you post a link to the site where I can do that with the vin ? cheers mate .

Well, a lot of varied input to this one. I wonder what the end result was.
Brabus is the more extreme variant of AMGin a MB. The engine, the wheels, the body.
Both AMG and Brabus command a premium because of the 'enhancement', but in the case of Brabus, it does tend to be a bit OTT (in my opinion) so in this case I would have passed. Certainly for a G-Class, I never see the point of low profile over-sized tyres. Even if they are rarely used off-road.

A modern G-Class is rarely a 'working vehicle', it's an icon of MB, with utility, luxury and power in one (square) package. When you sit and drive one, you get it. When the locks go, you get it. It's got presence. It can be a 1980's one or a Chelsea tractor, they are still rarer than almost every other.

I have had 3 of them admittedly, a while back now. Thec230, 280 andc300d
Absolutely unbeatable 4x4 simple as that
However, modern mb practice of making owners permanent cash cows prob mean this motor could be horrific in running, repair costs the last model I would consider is the 400 gd auto. I went to look at a swb. Loved it. But given the above I simply could not justify it.
I would consider a late 90, s 300 d auto swb. But given where diesel is going that might not be wise. I took my 230ge to Kenya. It was an 85 model then I sold it 10 yrs later and I NEVER had to walk. Unless I set out to do so. It went to every known game park n lodge and some unknown. My advise the less sensors, the less electronics the longer before u end up walking,, simples.
