One of our dealers in Essex has a little G Wagon project on the go! They are part way through an AMG conversion which we are going to have a little competition!

1: What engine is in the conversion.
2: What issues do we have to map out of the ECU to get it to run.

The winner will win a free remap!

Just so you know this is rather spontaneous

Regards

The GAD Team

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

1: What engine is in the conversion -A big one!

2: What issues do we have to map out of the ECU to get it to run - all the ones that don't work!

(as you can tell I have no idea - but wanted to have a go )

As the car is rhd my guess the original has a 103 engine so issues of mating the wiring to the loom and the instruments seem likely and perhaps the biogradable nature of the wiring itself. As to a the ecu the most likely gear box is a 4 speed auto so are you changing that autobox to a 5 speed electronic unit plus setting the engine up to produce torque rather than outright bhp. Quite a lot to do plus braking is ok with 170 bhp but adding another 100 or so might make you consider discs at the back, not an easy conversion.

M104 engine as has been said.

mapping issues id guess traction control/ASR (whatever you want to call it) as id imagine the loom isnt there or it needs different settings to work correctly on a G-wagen

also guessing that the fuel/ignition map needs adjusted to accomodate a differing airflow due to the changed induction set-up from the engine's original

Obviously you need to resolve the issues occurring between the gunglepin and the fuelling pressure of the oojimmywatsit as a result of an increase in the doodah due to the engine swap?

It's a doddle!
