Damn! Hope it’s not someone on here, don’t want to hear ‘fight, fight, fight’ again ... ;)

No not from here, but I know from where though, keeping my fingers crossed though.

So much for the builders coming back this week  Blasted weather

That's looking like a fabulous garage, can I propose you leave space for a lathe and milling machine, so you can make all those fiddly parts you need. I managed to squeeze a small lathe in, but a decent sized mill is going to mean I need to move one of the cars out. A garage is never big enough, we want to to add another bay to make it 3. The pictures show what I mean, space is tight.

And from outside, you would say that's a fine shed, it's exactly what I need, plenty of space for everything..
Fast forward a few years, ,, hmm, another bay, and that will do the trick..but at least, you have the space to expand.

I can see the rear part of your garage has the Chalet style. Here is where it'll work out just find for you Mark, it is an easy extension and cheap to do and whats more you can add plenty of equipment and keep the 55 in the garage. ;)

Luckily for me I have a friend with a lathe and another who does all my engineering which has been a godsend with the other car projects I have undertaken :) Very much appreciate any ideas too when building or in my case when the builders can work.

Fits in well with its surroundings too. What is that machine to the left of the pic and directly under the pulley block and tackle?.....and I like that early warning watering can ( in case the roof springs a leak.....:D )

Hi Jim, the machine is a 1925 Ruston and Hornsby IP Stationary Engine and dynamo I restored. 5 horsepower, it can produce 50-75 volts DC for home lighting purposes, It starts on petrol, then you can switch over to paraffin (or kerosene). I like the watering can idea :)

After a long absence of any sign of workers I was amazed to be told I need to collect the steel beams from the engineers with the lorry and get them back to mine in time for the Teleporter to lift the first beams into position, which meant getting up at 6am, something I am not used too!!
Anyway it was good to see work starting again.........And stop until this Saturday when they will return to carry on with the block laying.
Unfortunately it looks like I will have to get a crane in to lift the other 3 beams in over the scaffolding as the distance is too great for the 9metre teleporter
At least progress is back on again :)

You could hire up to a 20 metre telehandler if theres restricted room or access for a crane and outriggers

Thanks Kev, I have been able to get hold of a local chap who's crane will reach the height and distance. No issue with access with this one. I believe ot is a 20 metre like you suggested ;)
Have now discovered that the builders never grasped the concept of my intention to build the garage to my spec and follow the plans the architect drew up and submitted for planning permission
Because of this, the delay has been because they thought they'd done everything while waiting for the trusses to be added. They therefore booked other work in. I'm not having trusses, please look and study the plan! This has cost valuable time and a load of extra cash, not only because of someone not reading the plans, but the company who priced up and supplied all the materials under quoted thousands :(
Builders has now told me we won't be sure when we'll have this ready for the beams to be lifted into place.........(words edited out here)
The original quote of close on 50 grand might have been closer to the ball mark
If I had known, I'm sure an GT AMG would have fit in the old garage, oh well such as pipe dreams :D

I'd be checking contracts and agreements signed at inception, to see who is legally liable for the mess. Why should you be financially liable for somebody else's incompetence

Can I smell a club working bee this summer to get this finished off for you...?

Hope you got the Steel Co to make some hooks, and a nice stainless steel pole... :):)

I am finishing off a half rebuild of the family home. After three sets of "tradesmen" came and upset me I have now banned them and do everything myself, even the plumbing and electric. There is no such thing as a professional tradesman any more.
