I wonder if anyone has any suggestions regarding a recent problem I am experiencing with my "sprintshift"??????????
About six weeks ago the gear-box pump seized and the agent fitted a new pump and accumulator. Ever since I have had intermittant trouble with the gears shifting from "A" to "N" for no reason but mainly after I have stopped for traffic.
Two Merc' dealers have looked at the motor home and both report that they have been unable to complete the "teach in" as the test will only go part way and then reports a com,s error. An error code is not quoted.
We had No problem until the pump etc was changed and have travelled 10,000 km's since we bought the RV.It is a year 2000, 313 CDI. and has travelled 160000 k's, and is in perfect order.
Has any one any suggestios please.
Regards.

There is a specific German Sprinter forum http://www.2yoo.de/dr/sprinter/forum/index.php?mode=viewthread&forum_id=1&thread=787
It is in German, so 'right click' and select 'translate this page' (on text, not links)
I see there is some discussion on the 6sp sprintshift.

Also I note that the melbourne ambulance service has discontinued buying in them, with auto or sprintshift because of reliability issues.

Welcome to the forum

it is a pity they have problems with this gearbox. i drove a motorhome in Oz couple of years ago with the sprintshift and thought it was the best type of compromise between auto and manual....it was really simple to use.

i know over here they also shoved it in the c-class sport coupe for about £650, or about half the price of the full auto....i wish they had stuffed it in the SLK.

Commercial sprinters still have them and i did hear last year they did have trouble them......shame.
