This is sending me slowly daft......
I've been trying to identify which gearbox I need for my e-class, and after several pposts, Malcolm confirmed I needed a 717417 box - 6 speed manual.
I've located two in the U.K., both apparently 717417 boxes, but one of them is from a 4 speed car, the other is from a 5 speed.
The number on the box that's in my car seems to correspond with the 717417 theory - the number is: 202260130071741707507034 & according to the VIN search result, my transmission code is:71741707507934, so what's going on?
Is the 717417 number likely to be a generic one used for different boxes?
Could anyone possibly shed some light on this for me before Igo completely do-lalley.
