gearbox error code?

I have a 722.6 auto with error code 017 Transmission selector lever coding invalid,
how do you fix this one, help lol

What is the fault please with the box, we do not know what that code is

That is a fault description I have never seen either. Often generic scanners dont give the correct code/description on MBs you are better off going to someone with star diagnosis

You need a new selector lever, getting very hard now to find 2nd hand.......

should work ok but always best to reset the code.....

I had one a few weeks ago come from another garage with codes read from a snap on reader, they had replaced a selector and valve body and it was still stuck in 1st gear.

It needed a battery.

Snap On scanners, no matter what range dont seem to play ball on MB's. I have an Ethos scanner which I have when I do other makes and I have plugged it into the odd MB and you dont get half the info out you do on STAR.
