gearbox oil replacment

Is changing the auto box oil and filter a DIY job ?
Is there a guide to changing it ?
Its on a c240 sport 1999

There's a guide on the 5 speed auto box (722 model I think) in the DIY section.

Of course that's assuming that yours is the same style gearbox.
Post up te first six numbers of the VIN please.

hi i just done mine today not for the first time as i have had other mercedes in the past all w124 a 300te & now a e200 as its a older car i do all my own work to service the box i ran the front up on ramps & removed the auto box sump plug & drained the fluid then did the same with the torque converter when all the fluid was drained i removed the sump pan from the gearbox & i removed the fillter only three screws hold it in place i fitted a new one then i poped the sump and sump plug & torque converter plug back on i then added 5ltr atf fluid & started the car with my foot on the brake at idle select 2nd then 3rd drive & R all for 10 secs to work the oil round the box i then drove for 12 miles to warm up the fluid then i checked the fluid .i now have smooth gear changes & at the right time
