Gearbox remap

Hi, I've just joined despite been a Mercedes owner for over 10 years..I suppose better late than never.

I've recently came across an advert for gearbox remapping and was wondering if anyone has had any experience of doing this with the early seven speed auto and if so was there any noticable improvements in response to down changes?

If you have switchable gearbox modes, E(conomy) and S(tandard), then you get 90% of the remap benefit by just running S in my opinion.
If you don't have switchable modes, it might be worth it.
