Gearbox service

High I’ve just purchased a 2011 Mercedes c class 220cdi it’s on 135549 miles now and it’s got full service history full merc till 11000 then independent I’ve just Dumped oil out for molbl 1 as don’t know what oil is in it my local Inde merc guy will do gearbox oils Service for £240 is it worth getting this done at all

At that mileage, unless the service history shows if and when it's been done in the past, it'd be a YES from me! Make sure he does the TC (Torque converter) as well as the gearbox (so you'll need about 7L rather than about 4L of fluid) and the filter when he does it.

The 7G or 7G+ box should be changed every ~40K or 4 years

Just spoke with him torque converter is done in that just but he said no flush as it’s not recommended really he’s been doing Merc’s for over 30 years said he’s never done a flush

£240 for a full fluid and filter change is a good price, I paid £300 when I had the SLK done a couple of years ago!

There might be some confusion creeping in ? A full “flush” can mean different things because a car can be connected to a flushing machine as opposed to a change of “all” the ATF in the gearbox and TC .

No he’s just rang me because I asked him he said they drain all oil from box and converter and replace filter and fluid
