Gearbox stuck on Park

Hi all,
I have a Mercedes CLK 320 year 2000, the gearbox is stuck on park, I can not change from park, it is stuck there. The car turns on and I can release the parking brake, but I can not change gear from Park.

Any recommendations on what to do in such case, will apperciated .

Sounds like you need to replace the brake light switch!!!

Hello and welcome to the forum, the brake light switch can cause this, but I cannot guarantee that that is the fault.

They only cost £10 and are easy to fit

You can release this by passing a pencil into the small aperture next to position D (small flap) to engage the gears
