Gears not changing?

Hi all,

My car (MERC '84 500SEC) has been off the road for a few months. Went for a drive yesterday and I'm not sure the auto box is changing gear i.e. the revs just keep rising as you accelerate e.g. was at 4000+ when driving at 100 kmph. Does this sound right to you? Any ideas on cause?

Have you checked the gearbox oil level?
