hi all im a newbie, i drive an 04 c220 cdi classic(auto)
a couple of issues with it, can i turn off the service overdue light (as a freind serviced it)
recently i found out the gearbox oil was minimal and got it topped up, i am getting some slippage in first gear, can i change the gear filter myself , will this help and how do i go about it, thnx

Have a look in your manual for the details to reset the service indicator or there's a thread elsewhere on the forum with regards to 'hidden menus' and how to vary the service intervals dependent on the type of oil used.

There's a seperate thread (probably in DIY section) from Parrot of Doom who does a very good write up on changing the auto gearbox oil and filter. (You can't change the filter without dropping all the oil out!)
