thinking of fitting a 'generic' rev counter to my 90-95 308d camper - wa sgoing to get a vdo gauge to match but theyre even pricey on ebay, local motor factors do the generic ones for £35 ish - how do these types fit, suspect its an alternator pickup like my old landrover was but im not sure

can anyone shed any light on this before i part with the hard earned?

cheers

chris

ps what is the max rpm figure of the 2.3 non blown engine? - was snooping around ebay today and there was a dash photo of a merc diesel van with tachograph and rev counter and im sure the top of the redline was 3000 - are they really that low??

ta in advance

chris
