Getting more fond of my W201

Hi,

I am amazed how good the 190 2.0 is. Mine still looks like new (only my front and back bumper needs respraying) and has driven very well for a 86 model.

i am really thinking that there is no better benz in reliability, since its so old and drives so good for so long (only thing that wears out till now are the tires). Even after standing still for one year, it still drives so good.

However i have sighted some rust on the car, but what are the main problems that can arise from this model?

Too well engineered , a modern Mercedes would be a fair bit more expensive if built to the same standard as the 190s were. They were also a lot simpler on the electrics side of things. The more complex (and expensive) the electrics are the easier they become uneconomical to repair as they grow old and expensive engine management systems start playing up.

I doubt we will see so many of the 203 series lasting as well as 190.
