I have a 300CE with a blaukumpt Kingston SQR 48 radio/cassette which is dead. I have bought a replacement radio, but I cannot get the old one out. It has four small holes about 1mm in diameter at each corner of the face, but no other obvious way of getting any sort of tool to apply. Any help gratefully recieved.

The holes you describe are for the withdrawal tools.
Insert four lengths of welding wire or similar into the holes , you will feel resistance as you hit the retaining clips, push for another half inch then you should be able to withdraw your radio.

Knitting needles! Worked for me, but you need four. Any garage has the two retractor tools anyway!

Thanks very much - after wrestling with it for 30 mins I gave up and bought the removal tool (only £2) even then it didn't give up without a fight, but I suppose it has been in there for 18 years so likely to be a bit stiff!
