GLA45 Tyre Choice??

Hi everyone, I’ll be changing the tyres on my 18 plate GLA45 premium over the next few months. Currently have Continental Sport Contact 5P on at the moment. When entering my reg on Kwik Fit it’s the only tyre available, but when I enter my reg on National Tyres, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are available. The tyre size is 235/40/20.
What’s people opinions on these two different tyres? I had P-Zero on my old W204 C250 and couldn’t fault Pirelli.

Enter your tyre size in blackcircles and the like and figure out which parameters are best for you.
I tend to opt best for quiet and rain tracation, a certain brand has different charactersitics depoending on the size, for eg pzero are noisy on my w220 but brill on the w251.

Agreed, the RHD 4- Matics normally get all-season tyres recommended by Mercedes so the scrubbing is less prevalent

Yes I have tyre scrubbing only first thing in the morning when tyres are cold! Once warm and driven on then they’re fine.

Not sure you can get all season tyres in that exact configuration sadly....
So I think you are stuck from what I can see with the 2 brands you mention, for me the Michelin would be first choice.
However, Oponeo, Mytyres ,Camskill, Blackcircles or even Costco would be the places I'd check prices. You will find a difference....

I have Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on my car, on winter tyres at moment, and definitely prefer them to the Continental offering. Have had Michelin Primacy in the past, the Pilot Sport are better but wear quicker as softer.

Since I was looking at tyres for you - National tyre popped an ad on my FB feed and as I’ll be needing GY Assy 3 rears soon I checked out their price . ... imagine my surprise they are £20 ish quid cheaper than any of the others, all inclusive! And although I certainly don’t need to they are offering 6 months interest free too at the same price...

I would have bought them now even though I don’t need them with 15% off, they don’t stock my particular size (235/40/20) in PS4’s on Kwik Fit which I don’t understand?

That is very odd! Everyone else has them. Might be worth a call to see if you can take advantage, local managers tend to think on their feet a bit....

One of my friends had a GLA45 and got rid of it because it chewed through continentals. Continentals are also well known for a short life (read the 100s of reviews on black circles). I've got Michelin PS4's all around and they're super grippy. Best tyre yet. Although, they are wearing a lot quicker than I expected (Michelin do offer a mileage warranty for a full set fitted). But, I'd rather have more grip over distance. If my car could stop 1m more on expensive tyres, that's a lot of momentum reduced in a crash. There is an online website (will try and remember what it is) where they have 100s more sizes available.
