I've tried most things but still have rain / water spots.

Inside, I find it impossible to get the screen smear free.

Try using glass cleaner and wipe down with old newspaper. Then run a chamy leather over.

I hear you whitenemesis,

I have the same problem but on the outside, especially at night in the rain.

I have found this stuff works very well on the outside, after a long search for a decent glass cleaner.

May be of help to you.

Regards, W.

I use Nilco Nilglass. Works like a charm, and it leaves no white residue like the cream cleaners

Thanks, must be worth a try,, or what Nick has said.

Just mention one thing here, if you have rain sensing wipers, do not use rain X, it atomizes the water into too small a droplets and the auto wipe system will not activate

Autoglym fast glass is fantastic stuff, with microfibre cloth to take it off

Ditto the old newspaper. It works a treat!

For the inside of the windscreen I use two microfibre cloths. First one just slightly damp to get rid of the grime and then the second one dry to polish.

I use that too and find it works perfectly. I do think the cloth is important too - I use old tea towels but wash them without fabric conditioner.

Just tried Mer windscreen cream. Certainly cleans the glass well but it creates a huge amount of dust. Certianly couldn't use it inside...

Was also going to say auto glym, so easy to use.
when cleaning any glass on both sides wipe left to right on one side and up and down on the other , then you will always know which side any streaks are on ;)

I use autoglym glass cleaner and glass polish, vinegar and newspaper is also good although can leave a smell in the car.
